The "Key Questions that must be asked!" section is an important section, highlighting what we believe is at the heart of the matter. The document "The Status, role and Authority of the Basis of Union with the UCA" is a good document to read - available on the "Basis of Union" section. You can download it directly by clicking here.
It seems clear to me now that when the Church talks about 'polity', it is only talking about the 'order' of the church i.e. its structures, governance issues, inter-related councils etc. It seems to have dropped the 'faith' of the church out of the equation. That is, the Church is happy to talk about Jesus as being the head of the Church (faith) on Sunday's, but when it comes to things such as 'property' matters and decision making regarding property, the spiritual process of discerning the mind of Christ through prayer, waiting and reflecting upon God's Word, does not play a part in this process.
